Orange
35 km from Bélézy, Orange has been a major economic and cultural centre since ancient times.
With its Triumphal Arch and above all its Roman Theatre, the town, like Vaison la Romaine, has preserved a precious testimony to Gallo-Roman civilisation. Unesco did not make a mistake when it classified these two monuments as World Heritage sites in 1981.
Moreover, it is in the theatre that each year the Chorégies d'Orange festival is held. And it is also around the theatre that life in the town is organised, notably on Thursday morning when the large weekly market takes place.
If you visit Orange during the summer, please note that the town is one of the hottest in France.
